Why speaking Spanish is brutal
Speaking Spanish, speaking Chinese or any foreign language can be tough for a number of reasons. For me, the top reason is the humble pie you have to eat as you learn.
If you’re a funny person who always gets the crowd going, you’ll be a wallflower watching and trying to understand. If you’re intelligent, you’ll have no way to show it. If you’re creative, get a pad and markers because your words won’t do.
I don’t mean to discourage anyone from learning Spanish or any language. These are facts of life. It’s like playing on the football team and expecting to come home everyday with your uniform nice and clean.
Learning Spanish has a lot of challenges, one of which is to find a way to survive those moments in the beginning when you can’t say what you want to say, when you want to say it. You may know the Spanish word but it doesn’t come out.
Don’t worry. I repeat…DON’T WORRY! I’ve been there and done that and I promise you your Spanish will catch up. You just have to suffer through the growing pains until you learn enough to speak well.
Continue to study Spanish (or whatever language you choose). It’s worthwhile and a real kick when you can do it well.
